**Job Title: Gate Attendant** **Job Description** The gate attendant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations at our facility. As the face of the company, you will interact with customers, manage paperwork, and maintain the overall flow of vehicles entering the premises. The position requires you to work in a temperature-controlled small office environment, converted from an ocean container, and demands physical presence on feet for most of the time. **Responsibilities** + Work in a small confined environment within a temperature-controlled office. + Be on feet 60-70% of the time during shifts. + Open and close gates and reconcile paperwork, ensuring everything balances. + Complete reports 2-3 times a day using proprietary software. + Communicate effectively with clients, reminding them of accepted materials. + Determine the content of material entering the facility for proper billing. + Accept or reject waste loads based on content and suggest alternatives. + Receive payments from customers and provide receipts. + Balance daily receipts and deposit them into the safe depository. + Document waste entering the facility using truck scales and computer systems. + Notify operations of special waste and process required paperwork. + Answer phone calls and provide general information to callers. + Maintain cleanliness of the work area. + Perform other job-related duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Customer service experience. + Proficiency in computer programs. + Cash handling skills. + High school diploma or GED. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Flexibility with the schedule, with Sunday off and a mid-week day off. + Spanish language skills are advantageous. + Experience in construction or environmental sectors. **Why Work Here?** Our team fosters a positive culture with transparent leadership, encouraging all ideas and feedback. The facility operates six days a week with two shifts available. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.43 - $23.43/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
