**Responsibilities** **Job Duties:** 1. Perform moderate and high complexity testing in areas of Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, and Urinalysis to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. 2. Validates and reports results of tests performed. 3. Performs quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement indicators routinely in the department. 4. Operate, calibrate, standardize, and maintain instruments following established procedures. 5. Assists in checking calculations, transcriptions, quality control, and quality assurance reports as requested. 6. Participates in professional growth by maintaining knowledge of lab-specific policies and procedures and taking advantage of the available educational opportunities 7. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in a professional manner 8. Instructs other scientists and trainees on proper procedures and techniques for conducting tests and examinations 9. Provides technical assistance and training to laboratory personnel as needed Draft Ad for Dignity Website & amp; CA Job Bank for Ivy Garcia **Qualifications** **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or closely related. Employer will accept foreign equivalent degree if in the same field. **Experience Requirements:** 24 months in job offered, Medical Technologist, Medical Technologist II, or closely related. 1. Experience working in different sections of the Laboratory such as; Serology, Blood Bank, Phlebotomy/Information, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy (Parasitology/Urinalysis), Bacteriology. 2. Experience collecting blood, receiving urine, stool and other specimens and process them with proper adherence to quality assurance programs of the laboratory. 3. Experience examining secretions and excretions of the human body by various electronics, chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic, hematological, serologic and immunologic procedures and techniques either manual or automated. 4. Experience evaluating and performing corrective actions using Quality Control specimens on various clinical instruments. 5. Must have a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) License from the California Department of Public Health 6.
